Manila Airport Terminal Fee to Go Back Up to P750 |

Image via Wikipedia After enjoying a lower terminal fee for almost a month, passengers will have to pay the higher terminal fee of P750 again soon. According to the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC), Manila International Airport Authority will reapply its application for imposing an additional P250 to the current P500 terminal fee. Transportation Secretary Mar Roxas said the extra funds are needed for operations and maintenance of the airport terminals. The terminal fee for international flights at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) went down from P750 to P550 effective February 1. The Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) also debunked the notion that the NAIA imposes a lot of fees, unlike other countries. Roxas explained the terminal fees and travel taxes are incorporated in the airplane tickets purchased in other countries. In the Philippines, airlines refuse to incorporate the said fees due to the many exemptions such as the OFW and senior citizen privileges, enjoyed by a number of passengers.
